Gunold STIFFY 1860 Iron On

Coated for ironing

For medium-heavy weight knits like polo shirts, using an iron-on embroidery nonwoven is strongly recommended. It adds firmness and stability to stretch fabrics, preventing distortion during embroidery.

  • Heavy jersey fabrics (T-shirts, polo shirts)
  • Firm blouse and shirt fabrics with elastane

The heavy embroidery stabilizer, 68 g/m², is a PE-coated tear-away stabilizer for ironing on – tears lengthwise, crosswise, and diagonally.

For medium-weight knits (polo shirts)

Strongly recommended for embroideries on stretch materials!
Stretch fabrics tend to get distorted during embroidering – that’s why an iron-on embroidery nonwoven is a must. The ironed-on nonwoven gives knit materials and fabrics with a high percentage of elastane a higher degree of firmness and stability and prevents fabric distortion during stitching.

Processing Recommendations:

  • Hoop the base fabric with the nonwoven in an embroidery hoop.
  • Embroider the design.
  • Remove the hoop and carefully tear away the nonwoven.

Material Composition: Base Material: 75-80% Cellulose, 20-25% Polyester
Coating: 100% Polyethylene

Öko-Tex certified:

  • Iron STIFFY 1860i onto the reverse side of the fabric with the coated (smooth) side facing the fabric.
  • Hoop the fabric with the stabilizer.
  • Embroider the design.
  • Remove the hoop.
  • Carefully tear away the stabilizer – it separates very easily despite the iron-on bond.
